Marek Matvija is young Czech shakuhachi player. He is student of Vlastislav Matoušek and Kifu Mitsuhashi. He has attended many international masterclasses and workshop including a month internship in Tokyo, 2009. Currently, he studies at Film and TV School of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) at the Centre for Audiovisual Studies and works as art director of Prague Shakuhachi Festival. In 2010, the European Shakuhachi Society publicly praised his work.
