Suizenkai or a weekend meditation with the shakuhachi will take place on the estate of sculptor, Petr Kavan.
It is a unique event where the word suizen - blowing zen - regains its actual meaning. It will be led by Vlastislav Matousek and it is suitable for players of all levels.
Interview with Jim Franklin
Jim Franklin is one the few European professional shakuhachi players. In past years he stood behind some of the key projects of the European shakuhachi being a founding member and subsequently the chairman of the European Shakuhachi Society as well as teacher at several workshops including Prague Shakuhachi Summer School 2009.
The initial part of this interview was conducted some time before Prague Shakuhachi Summer School 2009; the second part of the interview reflects the Summer School.

Třídenní soustředění s flétnou shakuhachi. Akce bude probíhat od večer pátku do neděle večer na statku sochaře Petra Kavana v Malé Lhotě v Českém ráji (www.petrkavan.cz). Jedná se o nádhernou lokalitu s lesy a skalami, co by kamenem dohodil od hradu Trosky a hradu Kost (mapa) .
